Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
MicHunts LLC ("MicHunts", "we", "us") operates michunts.com, michunts.app, and the MicHunts mobile apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — email address, password, and the name you choose to display.
- Open mic listings — if you list an open mic: venue name, address, schedule, signup details, contact email, and any social links you add.
- Spot requests — your name, email, and any note you send when requesting a slot at an open mic.
- Messages — anything you send us by email.
Information collected automatically
- Location — only if you grant permission, and only to sort and filter open mics by distance. Declining location does not block any feature; distance filtering is simply unavailable.
- Usage data — view and click counts on open mic listings, so hosts can see how their listing is performing.
- Purchase data — if you subscribe, we receive a record of the transaction and its status. We never see or store your card number.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We work with a small number of trusted service providers who process data only on our behalf, only for the purposes below, and who are not permitted to use it for their own:
- Hosting and database providers — storing your account and open mic listing data.
- Authentication providers — securely managing sign-in and passwords.
- Payment processors — handling subscription billing. We never receive or store your card number.
- App store providers — Apple and Google process purchases made inside the iOS and Android apps under their own privacy policies.
- Mapping providers — rendering maps and looking up addresses.
- Email delivery providers — sending confirmations and spot-request notifications.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
What is publicly visible
Open mic listings are public — that's the point of the service. If you list an open mic, the venue, schedule, and any contact or social links you add will be visible to anyone using MicHunts.
Your account email is not shown publicly. Your favorites and saved searches are private to you. Spot requests are visible only to you and to the host of the open mic you requested.
We send transactional email — account confirmations, spot-request notifications, listing changes, and billing notices. These are part of the service. If you'd rather not receive a particular type, contact us.
Your choices
- Access and correction — you can view and edit your account details in the app at any time.
- Deletion — you can delete your account from Settings, or email us and we'll do it. Deleting removes your account and listings.
- Location — revoke the permission in your device settings whenever you like.
- Subscriptions — cancel through Settings on the web, or through your Apple or Google account for in-app purchases.
Children
MicHunts is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Many open mics take place in bars and venues with age restrictions.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that limit each account to its own information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and fix problems when we find them.
Changes
We'll update this page when things change, and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
