How to List Your Mic
Get your open mic in front of comics who are actually looking for it. Takes about five minutes.
Before you start
You'll want these handy:
- Venue name and street address
- Day(s) of the week and the start time
- How comics sign up — bucket draw, online, at the door, etc.
- Cover charge or drink minimum, if any
- Set length in minutes
- Your mic's social links, if you have them
Step by step
-
Create a MicLister account
Head to michunts.app and choose MicLister. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime.
-
Check whether your mic is already listed
Search for your venue first. MicHunts already includes a lot of open mics. If yours is there, open it and use Claim this mic — you'll take over the listing instead of creating a duplicate.
-
Add your mic
Tap Add a Mic and fill in the details. The address is used to place your pin on the map, so get it right — comics filter by distance.
-
Pick every day it runs
Select all the days that apply on the same listing. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday? Tap all three. One listing, one slot.
-
Set the schedule details
Weekly is the default. If your open mic is every other week, or the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, choose Custom Schedule. You can also add specific dates to skip for holidays.
-
Tell comics how to sign up
Bucket draw, online signup, email, call or text, show up and go up, or sign up at the door. If you use your own signup page, drop the link in and comics will be sent there.
-
Decide about spot requests
Turn on Request Your Spot and comics can ask for a slot right from your listing. You get an email each time and approve or decline from your dashboard. Leave it off if you'd rather they use your own system.
-
Add your socials
Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, TikTok, Bluesky. These show as tappable icons on your listing. Anything you leave blank simply doesn't appear.
-
Submit
Your mic goes live immediately. Edit it anytime from My Listings.
How are listings counted?
One open mic that runs on several days is considered ONE listing.
Say you run an 8PM open mic on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Same name, same venue, same time, same signup, same cost. That is a single listing with three days selected on it — not three separate listings, and it only uses one of your plan's open mic slots.
Make them separate listings only when something actually differs — a different start time, a different name, a different cost, or a different signup method. A 6PM open mic and a 9PM open mic at the same bar are two different open mics, even on the same night.
How many open mics can I list?
Your plan sets the number of active listings:
MicLister Starter
$2.99/month
or $14.99/year
Up to 3 mic listings
MicLister Growth
$3.99/month
or $19.99/year
Up to 5 mic listings
MicLister Pro
$4.99/month
or $24.99/year
Up to 10 mic listings
MicLister Elite
$7.99/month
or $39.99/year
Up to 20 mic listings
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial and includes editing anytime, in-app spot requests, and view and favorite tracking. Cancel anytime. Running more than 20 open mics? Get in touch and we'll sort something out.
Keeping your listing accurate
Comics plan their week around this. If your time moves, your cover changes, or you go on hiatus, update the listing — it takes seconds and it's the difference between a room full of comics and a room full of nobody.
Going dark for a while? Deactivate the listing instead of deleting it. Deactivating hides it from comics but keeps everything intact, so you can switch it back on whenever you return.
